On the Taronga Zoo Trip we had to pick a bird and write about it's characteristics, where it lives and lots more. The Bird that I chose was the Australian Pelican.
The Australian Pelicans scientific name is Pelecanus conspicillatus
The Australian Pelican has a very long pink pink beak that is also light weight. They use it to get their food (such as fish). But instead of chewing, they just simply swallow it whole. The pelicans also have a large wingspan that can go up to the length of nearly 3.4 meters! They also have four webbed toes on each foot. The pelicans height was around 1.1 meters and it's body width was about 21 centimeters.
